Sudbury Studio Singers will host their Christmas concert on Sunday, December 8 at Church of the Epiphany at 3 pm. The concert will include songs of the season as well as the Vierne Messe Solennelle which will highlight the newly inaugurated Phoenix organ. Baritone soloist Peter McGillivray will join the choir for the Vaughan Williams Fantasia on Christmas Carols, one of the most revered solo/choral Christmas works in the English repertoire.
The featured guest for the concert will be harpist Kristan Toczko who will accompany the choir for the Benjamin Britten Ceremony of Carols. Toczko will also play selections from the solo harp repertoire in the reverberant acoustics of the Epiphany sanctuary.
The twenty voices of the Sudbury Studio Singers are in their third season under the direction of their founder Robert Hall and have become known for their lyrical and dramatic singing. The concert will also include a selection of a cappella works including the Paul Manz anthem E’en So, Lord Jesus, Quickly Come, an anthem that was made famous by King’s College Choir.
